How to enjoy the rich foam of
Asahi Shokusai

How to enjoy Asahi Shokusai

The foaming changes
depending on the temperature.
There are fewer bubbles at lower temperatures
and more bubbles at higher temperatures.
The ideal temperature for drinking
Asahi Shokusai is 4°C to 8°C.
Please drink Asahi Shokusai thoroughly chilled.
The drink may spray out of the can at
12°C or higher for 340 ml cans and
10°C or higher for 485 ml cans.

* Please refrain from drinking on the train. The drink may spray out when it becomes warmer or is shaken after purchase, causing inconvenience to the people around you.

  • * Asahi SUPER DRY Nama Jockey cans and Asahi Shokusai cans have the same specifications.
  • * After drinking, please recycle according to local rules.

What to do if the foam does not form well

  • Check that the product is not too cold

    • ・When the refrigerator is set to a low temperature, such as the strong setting
    • ・When the can is chilled in the vicinity of the cold air outlet of the refrigerator or at a location where it is directly exposed to cold air
    • ・When the drink is refrigerated in an appliance other than a refrigerator such as a freezer or chiller

In the above cases, it may be difficult for the foam to form due to the product being too cold, or the foam may not form at first.

  • Pay attention to sudden product cooling

    • ・If the product is cooled rapidly with ice water, ice, or cold water, it may be difficult for foam to form due to sudden cooling of the product. Please cool Asahi Shokusai in a refrigerator.
  • What should I do to improve foaming?

    • <Before opening>
      - POINT 1 -
Please turn the can upside down and refrigerate it in the refrigerator. It is more effective to try this when cooling the can from room temperature.
      - POINT 2 -
Please try running warm water over the can for a few seconds before opening it. Foaming is created by unevenness in the inner surface of the can, and you can promote this by running body temperature water over the can after taking it out of the refrigerator.
    • <After opening>
      - POINT 1 -
You can warm up the “unevenness of the internal coating” by holding the can in both hands, which will promote foaming. Note that this will only change the temperature of the can surface, and the beer itself will not become excessively warm.
      - POINT 2 -
By immersing the bottom of the can in a few centimeters of water at body temperature, you can promote foaming of the beer that is in contact with the unevenness of the inner surface of the can. Please enjoy your favorite amount of foaming by changing the immersion time.

If the foam sprays out from the can

  • Please be careful not to raise the temperature of the product

    • ・If you open the product after purchasing at the store as it is, even if the surface is cold, it may not be cold enough. Please drink Asahi Shokusai thoroughly chilled at home.
    • ・After purchasing the product at the store, please chill it thoroughly in the refrigerator before drinking.
Asahi Shokusai contents Recommended temperature Recommended cooling time
340 ml Below 12°C 6 hours or more
485 ml Below 10°C 8 hours or more
    • * When the drink is warmer than the recommended temperature, it may spray out as you open the can.
    • * Foaming may be poor near a refrigerator outlet.
    • * The time until the product will cool from 20°C to 4°C-8°C in a general household refrigerator.
      (Based on Asahi Beer data)
    • ・If you leave the product at room temperature for a while before opening it, the temperature will rise and the drink may spray out as you open the can. Please open the product as soon as possible after taking it out of the refrigerator.
  • Pay attention to product vibration and impact

    • ・Do not shake or drop the can before opening it. This will cause foam to form more easily than usual, so the drink is more likely to spray out. (Please be careful when you take the product home in a bag and open the can as it is)
